Road Safety: Media representatives receive awards

KARACHI: The Human Rights Network’s Road Safety Awards 2012 were held on Saturday at the press club in which awards were presented to reporters, columnists, anchorpersons and other media personalities. Among the recipients was a reporter of The Express Tribune, Noman Ahmed, whose piece on container handling safety was published in July 2011. Justice (retired) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim, the event’s chief guest, applauded the awards for encouraging people to cover topics such as road safety. Saddam Tufail Hashmi, another award recipient, said that such awards are a great motivation.
