Policeman’s murder: Accused records statement at ATC

KARACHI: Bilal Zafar Farooqui, one of the two men accused in the October 2010 murder of police officer ASI Javed, gave his statement to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) II Judge Khalida Yaseen on Thursday. Farooqui’s statement was recorded at the Central Jail where the case is being heard. The accused has been charged under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act. According to an earlier report by The Express Tribune, ASI Javed was shot dead on Nishtar Road by unidentified men on October 5, 2010 while en route to the city courts complex from the Liaquatabad police station.
