
He was followed by Mehmood Ali in second place, with a difference of five seconds, and Fahim in third who timed 18 minutes and 33 seconds. In the individual time trial event, Laiq Shah came out on top with a time of 15 minutes and 20 seconds, while Abid Jan finished second ahead of Haq Nawaz.
The race, which started from GT Road Peshawar to Pabbi, Nowshere, was organised by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Cycling Association with an aim to promote the sport in the district. Cyclists representing seven Peshawar clubs took part in the event.
The award ceremony will be held on May 30 and Tahir was delighted at winning the event.
“I am very happy,” Tahir told The Express Tribune. “I practised regularly in the last six weeks and I’m now looking to bag the Tour de Pakistan title for my province.”
