PML-N finalises 3 names for CEC, consults opposition parties

Acting CEC Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice (r) Fakhruddin Ibrahim and Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid names by PML-N.

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) has finalised three names for the slot of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and has started to contact and consult opposition parties, both inside and outside Parliament, to take them into confidence over the matter.

Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan spoke to Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) General Secretary Liaquat Baloch and shared the three names with him.

Liaquat Baloch accepted the names and hoped that the upcoming meeting will be decisive.

According to details, the PML-N wanted to send three names - acting CEC Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice (r) Fakhruddin Ibrahim and Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid – to the parliamentary committee on the appointment of the chief election commissioner. PML-N, according to party policy, will consult all political parties inside and outside the house before sending the names to the committee.

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has sent three names to the committee. They are Justice (r) Munir A Sheikh, Justice (r) Ameer Mengal and Justice (r) Zahid Qurban Alvi. The opposition has rejected these names.

Yes they are good names and PMLN wins the moral ground always. PMLN is having the best team to run teh country affairs.
