Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan spoke to Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) General Secretary Liaquat Baloch and shared the three names with him.
Liaquat Baloch accepted the names and hoped that the upcoming meeting will be decisive.
According to details, the PML-N wanted to send three names - acting CEC Justice Shakirullah Jan, Justice (r) Fakhruddin Ibrahim and Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid – to the parliamentary committee on the appointment of the chief election commissioner. PML-N, according to party policy, will consult all political parties inside and outside the house before sending the names to the committee.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has sent three names to the committee. They are Justice (r) Munir A Sheikh, Justice (r) Ameer Mengal and Justice (r) Zahid Qurban Alvi. The opposition has rejected these names.

Yes they are good names and PMLN wins the moral ground always. PMLN is having the best team to run teh country affairs.
Wow! Such antipathy towards PTI in the comments section. The CEC should come through consensus of all parties, no matter A,b,c.
@Dengue: PTI is irrelevant---who are they? Simply because a bunch of tried and tested and rejected and lost gang with support of some not fully grown and developed; young and dumb of the land they can't assume or expect the importance they never had. First prove acceptablity of your politics and then worry about what they are doing.
i think Justice Fakharuddin G Ibrahim is the best one of them all. i pray for his selection.........I m sure he can conduct one of the fairest election in the history of Pakistan. good selection of names by PML N. They should contact all oposition parties even the smallest one...........and most importantly PTI. they should even try to convince MQM and ANP, PML Q on the issue.
PTI should now understand the importance of PML N staying in assemblies..........otherwise PPP will have a walkover in the appointment of CEC. All opposition parties should unite on this subject and be ready for a movement if need arise. Ch. Nisar should come out of his proudness. it would be better if NS deputes a team for this purpose.
Good Names suggested by PML N but i doubt if they consult to PTI, IK will not reply to them and later will pretend that they had made an agreement just to stop PTI. Cant understand what he want? He must support any1 of the names suggested by PML N

All names given by PML_N are good persons who enjoy trust of the nation.
Opposition has given good names and all opposition parties should support them.But I think Zardari will send message to Imran and Fazul-Ur Rehman so that they will say this is the NOURA KUSHTI of PMLN.
Did he consulted PTI as well...
