PIA chairman: Suleman’s appointment formalised

He takes charge as the 14th Chairman and CEO of the airline

LAHORE: Retired Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman has been nominated as Chairman and CEO of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) under policies and guidelines of the PIA Act 1956. He takes charge as the 14th Chairman and CEO of the airline, a PIA spokesperson has said. The chairman of the national flag carrier has pledged to continue the work done by outgoing chairman Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, and says he is honoured to be entrusted with the critical task of turning around PIA’s fortunes. The chairman has reiterated complete faith in the airline’s loyal and hardworking employees, and hopes to come up to the expectations of the entire PIA family. PIA’s spokesperson added that the national flag carrier has a meritorious history, and it is time that past glory is restored.
