Cricket: National club makes winning start

KARACHI: National Cricket Club Lahore, Al-Noor Gymkhana, United Sports and Vital-V made winning starts on the opening day of the Pakistan Champions League yesterday. Zubair Khan picked up three wickets for 14 runs to guide National Club to a 36-run victory over Dragon Club Hong Kong. Muhammad Bilal of National Club top-scored with 47, an innings that included eight boundaries and one six. In another match at the TMC Ground, Saad Naseem took four wickets for 15 runs to guide Al-Noor Gymkhana to a 64-run win over Korangial Fateh. Zafar Katpar scored an unbeaten 64 with seven sixes to direct United Sports to a five-wicket victory over Landhi Friends at Landhi Gymkhana Ground. Meanwhile, at RLCA Ground Gulberg, Vital-V beat Muslim Gymkhana Lahore by 28 runs.
