Athletics: WAPDA dominate national event

Wapda dominated the second day of the 44th National Athletics Championship with five gold, three silver and six bronze medals. Wapda’s Ali Muhammad won the 1,500m followed by Farhan Ahmed and Army’s Sajid Mehmood. In the men’s hammer throw, Azhar Abbas finished ahead of Habibullah and Muhammad Shakeel. 


Adnan Anjum won the men’s pole vault event, edging out Army’s Rehan Anjum and Muhammad Saleem of Wapda.

Meanwhile, in the women’s 1,500m Rabia Ashiq finished first and Samabia came second positions while Farhat Batool of HEC finished third.
