Assurance: Govt committed to developing IT sector

Currently there are 1700 IT companies operating in Pakistan which is a symbol of customer service providers’ trust.

Information Technology (IT) & Telecom Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf Thursday said that the government is committed to the development of information and communication technologies, infrastructure and applications for the provision of quality services, education, employment generation and women empowerment.


While addressing on the occasion of “World Telecommunication and Information Society Day” he reiterated that his ministry would continue expanding the IT network particularly to fill the gap of urban-rural dichotomy.

Earlier, IT and Telecom Secretary Farooq Awan also informed the attendees about ongoing projects and said that the sector has shown marvellous achievements during the last four years.

He claimed that currently there are 1700 IT companies operating in Pakistan which is a symbol of customer service providers’ trust on the policies and services of the ministry and its allied departments. APP
