Muet: More female students taking ICT classes

MUET pro vice chancellor Prof. Dr MA Uqaili said that the university encourages women to seek their career within ICT.

Female students are increasingly opting to study information and communications technology, as the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) organised events to mark the World Communication and Information Society day at its Jamshoro campus on Thursday. 


MUET pro vice chancellor Prof. Dr MA Uqaili said that the university encourages women to seek their career within ICT.  Prof B S Chowdhry, who is the dean of electrical, electronics and computer engineering at the university, said that more than 200 female students are enrolled in various ICT courses.

Dr Faisal Karim Shaikh, MPA Khlsoom Chandio and MUET vice chancellor Abdul Qadeer Rajput also spoke on the occasion, while female students who received scholarships from the Fulbright and Erasmus Mundus programmes were awarded certificates.
