SUKKUR:

The Pashtun community staged a protest outside the SSP office in Mirpur Mathelo on Thursday, to demand the arrest of the culprits who barged into the house of a Pashtun and injured him near Sarhad bypass, a couple of days ago. Scores of Pashtuns led by Lal Jan Khan, Hassan Khan and others gathered outside the SSP office.

They chanted slogans against the police, which according to them had failed to arrest the culprits despite the lapse of five days. Talking to the media, Lal Jan Khan said that five days ago, robbers broke into his house situated at bypass, injured him, his son Zafar Jan Khan and daughter Shireen Bibi when they resisted and fled. He said that the police was not ready to register a case against them.

An official, Abdul Khaliq Shah, met the protesters on behalf of the SSP and assured them of justice. The protesters ended the protest after the SSP’s assurance.
