PESHAWAR: Cashing in on the deteriorating law and order situation of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, unidentified persons have robbed the public of 59 electricity transformers, said Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) spokesperson Shaukat Afzal. Resultantly, people are shackling the transformers with heavy iron chains to avoid a repeat of these thefts. Shaukat said 11 power transformers have been stolen in Peshawar alone. A city Sub Division Officer (SDO), wishing not to be named, contended that the actual theft was well over the given figure. Despite such a large number of theft cases not a single person has been booked.
