A consumer court on Wednesday issued bailable arrest warrants for the proprietor of UK Electronics of Hall Road for June 14 in a suit seeking damages of Rs86,000 for selling a defective TV.
Petitioner Muhammad Anwar submitted that on March 5, he purchased a Sony Wega TV from the respondent for Rs16,000. He said the TV turned out to be defective. He said he went to the respondent to complain, and also pointed out that the remote control was of a local make rather than a Sony device. He said that the respondent refused to repair or replace the TV. Hussain denied the allegations. He said that he would fight the case in court. He said he had not answered previous notices because he had been trying to settle the case out of court with the petitioner.
