US, Pakistan, Afghan military hold border talks
The November 26 airstrikes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border provoked a major crisis in Pakistani-US relations, which were still reeling from the raid that killed Osama bin Laden the previous May.
Pakistan retaliated by shutting its Afghan border crossings to Nato supplies -- and the frontier remains closed.
But in a sign of easing tensions, US General John Allen, Pakistani army chief General Ashfaq Kayani and Afghan army chief General Sher Muhammad Karimi led their respective delegations at talks Sunday in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, near Islamabad.
"Talks focused on border control measures, and mechanisms put in place to avoid untoward incidents on both sides of the Pak-Afghan Border," a Pakistan military statement said.
The talks are the most significant Pakistan has hosted with the international military alliance and the Afghan military for a year.
On Saturday Allen held preliminary talks with Kayani on how to improve security in volatile areas bordering the two countries.
Pakistani leaders are also scheduled to meet next week to discuss ending the nearly six-month blockade on Nato supplies into Afghanistan.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani will convene the meetings which will also debate how to repair relations with the United States in time for a key Nato summit later this month.
Diplomats on both sides have been keen to resolve the impasse between Islamabad and Washington before the Nato summit on Afghanistan in Chicago on May 21-22.

@Realistic: we are not begging nor we need it..
and our Prime minister have lost His credibility and His legal and constitutional position after the punishment He got from the Court, so by this His whole Cabinet (including Finance minister & Foreign minister ) lost their seats and positions, so there is no benefit for their any trip to Europe & USA..etc
and there is no benefit for any negotiates with them, and they have lost the authority for the "EXECITIVE ORDER" which they could open the supplies with .
Also it will be unchallengeable in the courts....

There is absolutely no reason for us to draw anything negative from this meeting between our officials. This meeting should be seen as a step in the right direction. We are fighting the same terrorists who spare no opportunity to work against our interests. These same terrorists wish to see us remain tangled in our differences, so they can continue to further their evil agenda without resistance. But we must realize the importance of looking past our differences and focus on creating a better working relationship. We’ve proven that we can achieve great success by working side by side. And there is no reason why we cannot overcome our differences for the sake of achieving our common objectives. Our differences offer these terrorists leeway to continue with their evil mission. And we need to put an end to that! We simply cannot allow them to mercilessly continue their acts of terror. The region has already suffered enough with their atrocities, and it’s time that all the regional partners get on the same page and eradicate the menace that’s preventing peace and stability from prevailing.
Pakistan should not give in to NATO demand but they more than likely will.

Us, India, Afghanistan, Bengalis, Baluch, ISI, Crusaders.....so many enemies you have. I think problem is with you, not US or anyone else.
Initially, secular extremists tried to convince people that Pakistan is not the only option for US to continue operations in Afghanistan. So it was a right decision by Mush to align with Crusaders to shed blood of Muslims. After a decade, its somewhat proved that US can't survive without Pakistan and she is trying her level best to get NATO supplies routes reopen. So secular extremists should show some rationale (if they have any) while supporting killings of Muslims in Afghanistan and border areas of Pakistan. Other arguments about throwing Pakistan back to stone age in case of refusal also falls apart as Pakistan is still being thrown back to stone age after taking side with US. I hope that secular extremists will realize real enemy of Pakistan and channelise their hatred towards our real enemy, USA.
