The event, which was hosted by Mountain Dew, gave Lahore a taste of the film that was the talk of the town since news of its release first came in. According to imdb.com, The Avengers has already taken in over $700 million worldwide during the two weeks after its release.
The film is an adaptation of the comic book of the same name, which according to various accounts was first published in 1963. The story revolves around a team of superheroes — with each member possessing an extraordinary power — that band together to form the Avengers and fight evil.
With a strong star cast that includes the likes of actor Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson, the Marvel comic book recreation is bound to crush every film that comes in its way.
“It’s going to be an amazing popcorn film,” said musician Ahmed Ali Butt while speaking to the press before the launch. “The reviews have been really good thus far so we have to see how the film turns out to be.” Even though the film has been received well at the box office, it’s heavy action sequences and occasionally choppy script keeps it from being a perfect 10.
On the other hand, sarcastic and dark humour seems to fit Robert Downey Jr, who brings life to the film but the rest of the actors simply don’t click well enough. Captain America, played by the heart-throb Chris Evans, surely fits like a glove into his role and shows a funny sort of competitiveness towards Iron Man.
According to Director Bilal Lashari, people can easily relate to these characters. “Many of us have literally grown up with these characters and to finally have a film with all these superheroes in it is a big deal,” said Lashari. Speaking about the possibility of doing his own comic film, he said he is open to the idea. “We don’t really have any comic book heroes but I think if I were to make a superhero movie it would be on Maula Jutt.”
