HARIPUR:

A man was killed, while his father and brothers were injured, when a rival group allegedly opened fire at them in Badakot village, Kohistan, on Saturday evening.

According to the police, Muhammad Sagheer of Badakhel tribe was on his way to a nearby forest with his three sons when they were ambushed by a group of armed men from Narang Shah Khel tribe, who allegedly opened fire at them with AK-47s.

Qari Azizur Rehman, the youngest son, was killed on the spot while Sagheer, Eisa and Abdul Qadus were injured during the attack.

Locals shifted them to Palas Hospital, from where the injured were referred to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad.

Police said the motive behind the attack was a family feud over ownership of water, which claimed two lives from the attackers’ side last year and left four others injured.
