KARACHI:

Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWF) has given banned Khurram Shehzad two weeks to reply to the international body after he tested positive for a banned substance in the South Asian Weightlifting Championship in March.

Shehzad won gold in the 94kg category but could be stripped of the title if his ‘B’ sample is also tested positive.

“Shehzad has two weeks to file a reply and then he will be called upon for sample collection again,” PWF Secretary Hafiz Imran Butt told The Express Tribune. “If he fails in that then he’ll have to appear before an international disciplinary committee. His fate will be decided there. He might be stripped of his medal too.”
