BAHAWALPUR: Three sisters drowned in the Abbasia Link Canal near Mahmoodabad village on Thursday. Ahmed Kalyar told The Express Tribune that his daughters had been washing clothes on the edge of the canal when the eldest, Parveen, 22, fell in. Her two sisters, Shaheen, 18, and Tahreem, 15, jumped in to save her but all three drowned. “The youngest of our daughter, Sidra, 12, ran home to tell us about it,” he said. He said they were unable to find the girls.
