LHC bars private tour operators from taking Hajj applications
Earlier, Justice Umar Ata Bandial had observed that allocation of quota only to previously registered Hajj Group Organisers (HGO) was a violation of the Hajj Policy 2012.
Justice Bandial had said that both new and old operators should have the opportunity to apply for the Hajj quota, and stopped the quota allocation process while adjourning hearing of the petitions till May 9.
Earlier, the petitioners had pleaded that due to unjust distribution of Hajj quota to private tour operators it had become impossible for the common man to bear Hajj expenses.

Government should not subsidize the Hajj. Let the market decide the pricing instead of fixing it. Privatize it completely.
It is extremely unfortunate that this sector has been corrupted also. The only way out is to abolish all Hajj groups and only Government Sector should manage it. But it was their corruption that this present private group was introduced and now they are involved in all kind of malpractices. Not every body know that because of this culture prevailing in this sector the most admired Alamgir Trust has returned their quota and are no more in the business. If you need to bribe to get or enhance your Hajj quota what is left for you out of the Thawab, if you try to make it up from the Hajis. May Allah give sense to out beaurocracy to exclude this sector from corruption, at least.
