Fertiliser: Govt reduces DAP prices

FAISALABAD: The government has reduced price of DAP fertiliser by Rs420 per 50kg bag, a notification stated on Tuesday. According to spokesperson of Agriculture Department, a 50kg bag will be available in the open market at Rs3,780 instead of Rs4,200. He told that all fertiliser dealers have been directed to sell at new price, otherwise, strict action will be taken against the violators. The government has taken this step to provide maximum relief to the farming community so that they could easily sow Rabi crops. The farming community welcomed the reduction but apprehended that it may be a mockery as the government often announces reduction in prices but due to improper management the fertiliser is not available at the reduced prices.
