The war in Afghanistan has claimed over 1,300 civilian lives so far this year, states an Afghan human rights group.
This year 1,332 people have been killed in Afghanistan. Afghanistan's Independent Human Rights Commission says nearly 70 per cent have been killed by the Taliban. Over 20 per cent have been killed by Afghan and NATO forces in the country.
What the NGO terms violent but unknown factors account for the rest, the report said.
The weapon most responsible for civilian deaths is the Taliban weapon of choice, the roadside bomb.
