Lyari operation: How, when, what?
April 1: Saqib, alias Sakhi, of Peoples Amn Committee (PAC) was killed in an alleged encounter between police’s Anti-Extremist Cell (AEC) and PAC gangsters.
April 2: Eight people, including a woman and a Pakistan Peoples Party leader Hassan Soomro, were gunned down and around 30 people, including six policemen, were injured in cross fire between police and Lyari residents.
April 10: A policeman posted at Kalri police station was kidnapped and killed.
April 11: The chairman of Friends of Lyari, Habib Jan Baloch, and nine others, including Peoples Amn Committee leaders and activists - Uzair Baloch and Zafar Baloch, were booked for the murder of the Kalri policeman in Lyari.
April 13: Lyari becomes a battlefield once again. Six more people and around half a dozen more were injured.
April 14: Two more people are killed while seven others were wounded.
April 22: About 160 policemen posted in Lyari are replaced by the South Zone police.
April 26: One more policeman, and the former deputy nazim of Lyari, Malik Mohammad Khan, shot dead as he led a protest against the contempt conviction of the prime minister.
April 27: Eight men, including an alleged gangster, Naeem Lahoti, killed and 24 others injured.
April 28: Seven people, including two policemen and an alleged gangster Mullah Sohail, died and over 18 were injured.

Babar Khan and Adeel Ansari: If you think that the operation is against the Baloch and "innocent" Lyariites, then who are the people shooting guns, throwing grenades, and firing rocket launchers right now? The operation is against these criminal elements. It does not matter if they are Balochi, Sindhi, Muhajir, Pakhtun, Hindu, Makrani, or whatever. They cannot be innocent since they are fighting with latest and high-tech weapons, including hand grenades and rocket launchers. Stop trying to bring ethnicity into this. It is because of people like you that Lyari is burning right now. For God's sake be truthful, if not to others than to yourselves at least.
This operation is against the criminal elements not against any ethnicity ,i don't know why people are so biased ? why they don't recall their memories what Zulfiqar Mirza said about People Aman committe he is tha man behind these criminals.Why not media questioning him now ? why every one is silent ?
Hope the law enforcement agencies come out as the victors.

The media which is so active in covering any Baloch deaths in balochistan is silent over the operation against the baloch launched in lyari.Why is this so? Who is pressurizing the news channels not to give coverage to the baloch of lyari being killed?
This operation is like the operations of the Nineties in Karachi.This time the people of lyari are being subjected to state operation against its own people.Dozens of lyarites have been brutally killed as state machinery is being used to settle political scores in Lyari.
