Walk held to promote economic activities

LAHORE:

Hundreds of businessmen, businesswomen, politicians, members of civil society, students, professors and special persons took part in a Business Walk on Wednesday to express solidarity and show their resolve to take the country out of gloom and promote economic activities.

The Business Walk was part of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Shopping Festival 2012 that is moving towards its peak.

The walk, jointly led by MNA Pervaiz Malik and LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, started from the LCCI and culminated at the Governor’s House. Around 250 disabled persons on tricycles also took part.

Addressing the participants of the walk, Malik said such activities were absolutely necessary to tell the world that Pakistanis as a nation were determined to get their right place in the global market and they would continue their struggle for economic revival of the country.

He said not only education was on the priority list of Punjab, but it was equally worried about the fast widening gap between the rich and poor and was taking appropriate measures to bridge the gap.

LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said the LCCI with the help of the festival had made an attempt to rejuvenate economic and cultural activities and would help promote business and economic activities in the province.
