PESHAWAR: Inspector General (IG) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Muhammad Akbar Khan Hoti has suggested the army take over control of four central jails of the province. Talking to media after on Tuesday, Hoti said that the army should take control of central jails in Peshawar, Bannu, DI Khan and Haripur. Talking about the attack on Bannu jail, the IG said that militants from tribal areas had crossed the army and Frontier Constabulary (FC) to reach the jail and free their accomplices.  He said the political administration should specify what action they have taken so far. The IG was of the view that law and order can be improved if the FC platoons deployed in other provinces return to K-P.

I totally agree. The FC from Islamabad and other provinces should return to KP and safguard the province, its people and installations like jails etc. as KP is directly affected by militancy. I also agree that army and intelligence agencies should protect the jails because Taliban are much stronger than the police and the police is neither trained nor equipped for coping with an assault like we saw in case of Bannu jail.
