Alleged abortion: SHO asked again for comments

Petitioner said he read a newspaper report about Meera getting an abortion, which he described an “illegal act”.

LAHORE: A court on Friday again sought comments from Defence-B station house officer on a petition that seeks the registration of an FIR against Meera, an actor, her friend Captain Naveed, three doctors and others who allegedly helped her in terminating a pregnancy. This was the second time Additional District and Sessions Judge Rai Muhammad Ayub Khan sought comments from the SHO. The official was given time till April 27. Petitioner Muhammad Islam says that he read a newspaper report about Meera getting an abortion, which he described an “illegal act”. He says that he had asked the SHO to register a case but his request was ignored.
