Intimidation: Actress’ bail plea to be heard on May 5

Petitioner alleged that Rustam was running a brothel on his property and he had asked her to vacate the property.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Hussain Sial has scheduled arguments for May 5 on a pre-arrest bail plea by a stage actress accused of making death threats and trespassing on private property.


Saba Rustam, alias Lashana, told the judge on Monday that the allegations against her were false and that the complainant and the police had sought to implicate her in a false case with the intent of blackmailing her.

Petitioner Iftikhar Ahmed alleged that Rustam, armed with a club, and her brother had tried to attack him at his house on December 31, 2011. He alleged that she had made death threats to him.

He alleged that Rustam was running a brothel on his property and he had asked her to vacate the property.

An FIR was registered at Sabzazar police station under Section 452 (house trespass) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against Rustam. At the last hearing, the judge had granted the actress pre-arrest bail for Rs50,000.
