IPL: Chennai brings down the Royals
A cool and calm stand between MS Dhoni (15 off 12) and Dwayne Bravo (16 off 10) followed Faff du Plessis’ 52-ball 73 to help Chennai Super Kings seal a seven-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals off the last ball of the match.
Du Plessis’ effort ensured Chennai did not need boundaries towards the end as Dhoni and Bravo hit a single four each but still managed to take their side home while chasing Royals’ 146 for four.
Earlier, Owais Shah continued his blazing run in the IPL, stroking a 43-ball 52 with the help of four fours and three sixes. Nuwan Kulasekara and Ravi Ashwin starred with the ball for Chennai, giving away a total of 36 runs off their quota of eight overs while grabbing two wickets.
