JSQM is holding a strike across Sindh to protest the investigative report presented by a committee looking into Qureshi’s death.
The report said that phosphorous was found in Qureshi’s body but it could not be ascertained whether he was poisoned or not. The party, rejecting the report, claimed that it was ‘ambiguous’.
The leadership of JSQM maintains that Qureshi, who died on April 7, had been poisoned in Sakrand, Benazirabad district, and had demanded an impartial inquiry into his ‘murder’.
During the strike, all business centres, CNG stations and petrol pumps remained closed in Sukkur, Hyderabad, Tandojam, Nawabshah, Badin, Thatta and other cities.
