All provinces reach mutual consensus on two holidays a week
During the conference, presided over by Federal Minister for Water and Power Naveed Qamar, all four provinces reached a mutual consensus on implementing decisions taken during the energy conference.
According to sources, all provinces will issue notifications themselves. This action will conserve a total of 700 megawatts of electricity.
Earlier, to overcome the current energy crisis, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had directed government offices to work five days a week, thereby saving 700 megawatts of energy.
The decision was taken during the National Energy Conference,
Apart from reducing the number of working days for government offices, the government had decided to implement a street-light conservation plan recommended by the Ministry of Water and Power.

Wow. What an important decision. I can't believe this important decision has finally been made. Its truly life changing. Two holidays everywhere, wow.
if we gave daylight saving time during summer, it will also help in reducing electricity consumption.
excellent idea to conserve electricity
It is mostly the government departments (ISI, Punjab Government, etc) which are not paying their dues and hence the circular dept. Keeping their lights off for two days will reduce the circular debt issue, if not eliminate it completely.

2 holidays is good for health for government officials. But I doubt Health Care, and other essential ministries get this extra Saturday Holiday.
Private sector can do what it wants and work on Saturday. Because Government is not Private, it's a public commodity traded and trained by public peoples.
Government over here is the wrath of dicktatorship.
