QUETTA:

At least twenty illegal immigrants headed to Europe via Iran are feared to have died near the Pak-Iran border due to lack of food and water.

According to reports, more than two dozen people from across Pakistan were on their way to Iran when they were trapped in Dalegh Kor, a mountainous area close to the Iranian border some 160 kilometres southeast of Gwadar.

Over twenty people reportedly died due to lack of food and water as a result.

Commissioner Makran division Aslam Jamali confirmed the reports of death of 20 people who were headed to Iran illegally.

“The bodies are in Iranian territory,” he said.

District Police Officer Gwadar Dostain also confirmed that several Pakistani nationals had died in Iran.

“I cannot give the exact death toll but illegal immigrants and some agents were killed,” Dostain told The Express Tribune.

Why do you call these people immigrants? By definition immigrants go to other countries through legal means but there is no legal immigration to mainland Europe. All these people who go to Germany, Scandanavia etc have to smuggle themselves in illegaly and ask for asylum after doing all kinds of illegal things. I have seen hordes of these people from Iraw, Bangladesh, Africa, India and other third world nations selling trinkets in the streets of many European cities.
