BAHAWALPUR:

People should take their complaints directly to the police station concerned instead of trying to approach senior officials, Bahawalpur Regional Police Officer Capt (retd) Syed Abid Qadri said on Sunday.

He said while approaching senior officials might sometimes not yield a result, it would let officials responsible for taking action in such complaints escape accountability.

Talking to The Express Tribune, the RPO said all deputy superintendents of police (DSP) and station house officers (SHOs) of the region had been directed to hold office hours from 3pm to 5pm every day. He said he would regularly hold open courts to hear public complaints against policemen, adding that those reluctant to bring their complaints in public could consult him at his office.

The RPO assured the people that progress would be apparent in crackdowns against land mafia and proclaimed offenders in few weeks.
