US’ apology for Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan’s 90-minute detention has not gone down well with the PML-N.
“The US government did not apologise for the Salala attacks that killed 24 soldiers in Pakistan, but have rendered a public apology for detaining Shahrukh Khan at an airport in New York City,” said Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Pir Sabir Shah.
At a rally in Peshawar on Sunday, Shah said it was evident from the US’ apology that Pakistan was not as important as India in the eyes of the international community. “Pakistan has lost its sovereignty during the Pakistan Peoples Party’s tenure,” he said.
“Let me tell you what the real difference is [between India and Pakistan], it is the difference in leadership of the two countries.”
The PML-N has the ability to put this country on the right track. The only problem faced by Pakistan is a lack of real leadership and Nawaz Sharif can fill this gap, he added.
US drone attacks continue unabated and the Zardari-led PPP government has put Pakistan’s sovereignty at stake by not protesting over these attacks, despite Pakistan being a nuclear state.
He added that the PML-N will stop drone attacks. “Controlling power outages and security problems were on top of our agenda. Only the PML-N has the ability to correct blunders of the present government and its predecessors,” he said.
He claimed that the PPP and the previous government of General (retd) Pervez Musharraf have the “same agenda of serving the US at the price of the public”.
Earlier, Iqbal Zafar Jagra, provincial president of the PML-N, addressed participants and reiterated that it was only the PML-N which could stabilise Pakistan.
Other leaders of the party, including Fareed Tufan and Nasir Musazai, were also present at the rally.

only fools can make comparison between two totally different incidents. it shows how grossly foolish are the pakistani politicians
Apology is not enough. India should reciprocate the gesture by detaining US celebrities.
"....it is the difference in leadership of the two countries". Too generous Sirji. That may be over-glorifying the Indians.
Dear PML-N . you are equally responsible for the state of this country as PPP. So please stop talking about ideas and visions that you are incapable of delivering in the first place...
Ha Ha Ha....................thats all I can say after reading this...politicians everywhere are just the same
Haha. Nawaz Sharif didnt have the guts to carry on with the Kargil operation when he got his orders from the States, so he should be the last one talking on this issue. And of course US can apologize to SRK, because he's Indian; and India is a strong developing independent economically self-sufficient power, while Pakistan is a rudderless, enslaved, dependent country with an economy in shambles, for which PML-N can take credit along with all the rest.
Why PAK are so emotional and irrational ?
INDIA is investing 1 billion dollars in roads, infra. , schools, hospitals etc in AFG
and what PAK is investing ?
TTP, Haqqani , Suicide bombing ?
You earn respect by giving respect , not by sending terrorists to AFG
There is more to the Salala incident than meets the eye. It is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. How does anybody explain why the drones spotted insurgents taking refuge in a supposedly "army" camp?
"I did not realize that Shahrukh Khan was firing at weapon. If he was just as the PAK soldiers fired at the NATO patrol then this is really unfair."
And NATO was patrolling in Pakistani Areas.....
What can yo expect from "Pir" Sabbir Shah? Inorder to make News headlines, these so-called leaders can say anything. When he opposed General Fazle Haq, after the restoration of democracy, Fazle Haq said: "..the guy who himself used brush/paint for writing "welcome fazle haq" on every stone of Haripur, is now openly criticising me".
Shahrukh wasn't heavily armed trying to kill people.
This is how the United States has lost its face in Pakistan. No doubt the US has no good intentions about Pakistan
pmln have no shame they ok the nato supply such a hypocrite lot
USA apologizes for mistakes all the time --- what they don't do is give unconditional apologies when they return fire initiated by their supposed ally.
If our leaders were real "men", this would never ever take place. It ain't the strength of the poor actor, but the sissy weakness of our nation.
Blame the "elected leaders". They represent us.
stop acting like a cry baby. First earn self respect and after then demand for equal treatment from others.
Muslims get respect when they are from India, but dont when they are from Pakistan. What does that tell you!
Shame on the nation for electing PPP in centre and PML in Punjab. They have just passed resolution to advance relation with US and open border to NATO supplies. We will live shameful life due to these parties.
PML, these are hollow slogans and stop cursing each other to fool us.
Pakistan was not as important as India in the eyes of the international communityemphasized text
It took you so long to realise this?!!!
and yet you acquiesced to the PCNS proposal.
PMLN is lying. Had that not been the case it would not have earned the title of the "Friendly Opposition."
spot on
What has irked PML is "APOLOGY TO INDIA" rather than "NO APOLOGY TO PAKISTAN". Come on, get over this comparisons for every minute body languages.
Probably true. But the bigger difference to the US (and the world) is that India does not deal with other nations holding a machine gun in one hand and a begging bowl in the other.
If the US doesn't respect our country enough to apologize then it is our dear leaders who are to be blamed. The current bunch of uncouth thugs parading as leaders cannot gain nation's respect let alone a vainglorious superpower's.
“Let me tell you what the real difference is [between India and Pakistan], it is the difference in leadership of the two countries.” That has been the problem of Pakistan since 1947, whether elected or forced themselves into power.
Issue is not of leadership, but of moral value. Pakistan has lost credibility because of her double games. No leader can turn around the fortunes of Pakistan unless this nation stops playing double games of terrorism. Being nuclear power is not enough.
I did not realize that Shahrukh Khan was firing at weapon. If he was just as the PAK soldiers fired at the NATO patrol then this is really unfair.
Then again this could just be another hint that PAK is no longer central to the US' policy in South Asia.
In Public PMLN criticizes PPP but in assembly or senate they support each other. PPP and PMLN is just making fun of poor Pakistani masses. Shame on you PMLN or PPP, you are two sides of same coin.
