New provinces: MQM agrees with President Zardari on Seraiki province
In a statement issued on Sunday, the MQM Coordination Committee said that the efforts were a positive sign, and it called for similar steps to be taken for the creation of a Hazara province. On Saturday, President Zardari asked Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to start consultation with political parties for a Seraiki province, and on Sunday, he directed the government to establish a separate bank for the region.
The Coordination Committee asked for the MQM’s bill on the creation of Seraiki and Hazara provinces, which was submitted in the National Assembly, to be taken out of ‘cold storage’ and be discussed.

Division of Punjab, can save the division of Pakistan...
Nobody can divide Punjab. those who're trying are playing with fire.
@Yusuf Jan: PTI and PMLN have already announced their strategies and both parties stressed the need of new provinces but purely on administrative grounds. Shahbaz Sharif last night had already announce the new provinces on administrative grounds and restoration of Bahawalpur province. The parties dominant in Punjab are wise enough to create a communal harmony and they dont want more Karachis in Pakistan and PTI and PMLN exactly did that.
The remaining big parties (PML N and PTI) should not be silent on this matter and LOUDLY announce that they too are in favor of more provinces - not just in Punjab but in all the other provinces also.
This should be a key point in PML-N and PTI's election agenda. They should announce that this will be amongst the top 10 items taken up if they come in to power and also list the process they will adopt to move this forward.
There is no reason why the PPP should get away by making "new provinces" their slogan. I think all parties acknowledge this is the need of the hour - we need to understand which party has the capability of doing this fairly, efficiently, and objectively.

We've had a Sindhi ruling the pakistan for the last four years. Before that it was a military ruler from the Muhajir community ruling pakistan.
If new provinces are to be made, than the Muhajir sooba will be the first one made because the Muhajirs have sacrificed the most for making pakistan. They are in a majority in Karachi & a few other towns in Sindh and deserve to have a separate province of their own.
It is time to have a taste of your own medicine. I would not like to bad mouth the industrious and loving common people of Punjab, however, the Punjab establishment / elite has been targeting the other smaller provinces of this God for saken nation eversince the so called independence. Now you will realize, how it feels to be on the receiving end.
@Jehangir Khan: A separate province of Karachi and Hyderabad would be very welcome and practical, but the MQM obviously dare not suggest this lest it be accused of treason again and creation of Jinnahpur. As far as the PPP goes, its vote bank in Sindh will deteriorate if it talks about this, so all in all, Sindh will continue to remain the same despite the complete absurdity of the situation.

Why this deliberate targetting of only Punjab ? The media remains completely silent over these racist attacks on punjab. If the ppp wants new provinces then it should start by creating a new Muhajir province out of karachi and Hyderabad. All the parties have ganged up for breaking up Punjab. This racist hate and bigotry will do no one any good. If the present provinces are to be divided than the PPP must start with the province in which it has two thirds majority.
The ppp leadership using the strength of their numbers in the Sindh Assembly must immediately declare the formation of a new Mohajir suba out of what is presently sindh province.
