New relations: Turkey wants to bridge gaps

New branch of Pak-Turk International School, the first in Jamshoro and eighth in Pakistan, was inaugurated at LUMHS.

HYDERABAD: A new branch of Pak-Turk International School, the first in Jamshoro and eighth in Pakistan, was inaugurated on Wednesday at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) by Turkey’s Consul General Murat M Onart and vice chancellor Dr Prof Noshad Shaikh. The school will initially offer education till the primary level. The teachers have been trained in Turkey. According to Onart, the initiative will bring the people of Turkey and Pakistan, especially of Jamshoro and Hyderabad, closer. The students will also be taught Turkish traditions and culture. The deputy governor of Izmir, Turkey, Haluk Tuncsu said that the Pak- Turk Education Foundation was bringing people together. The governor of Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan was scheduled to attend the event but was unable to do so because of the strike organised by Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz.
