ISLAMABAD:

President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said that the cherished goal of a progressive Pakistan could be achieved by harnessing the true potential of youth.

Addressing the concluding session of “Pakistan Leaders of Tomorrow - Youth Outreach and Mobilisation Effort” at the Presidency, Zardari spoke of challenges confronting the country and said “instead of pointing fingers towards others we will have to look inwardly to find a solution to our problems”.

The president said ever since he assumed office he has been pleading for trade and not aid during interaction with leadership of other countries. Referring to the anxiety of youth about mounting foreign debt, as expressed during the summit, he said: “The amount of 54 billion dollar external debt is not much if we look at the potential of the country to pay back it.”
