Darul Aman security: DCO given till April 24 to reply
Musarrat has told the court that the petitioner is not her husband and that she does not want to go live with him.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Monday directed the district coordination officer to ensure better living conditions and security for a woman who has been at the Darul Amaan for two years. DCO Noorul Ameen Mengal sought time to file his reply, at which the hearing was adjourned till April 24. The court had summoned the DCO Noorul Ameen Mengal after being told, at the last hearing, that an unidentified man had been allowed to meet the lady at Darul Aman. On Monday, the district coordination officer denied that such a meeting had taken place. The judge was hearing a petition filed by Abdul Majid of Narowal who says that he had married Musarrat in August, 2008. He says that she was kidnapped and later sold to a man, Javed, for Rs125,000. Majid says that Musarrat came to the Darul Aman after escaping. Musarrat, however, has told the court that the petitioner is not her husband and that she does not want to go live with him.
