Badminton: Mardan lift championship trophy

PESHAWAR: Mardan stunned defending champions Hazara to clinch the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Inter-Regional Women Badminton Championship. Aqsa defeated Hazara’s Munazza 3-1 in the first singles encounter before combining with Arifa to beat Amina and Aylia 3-1 in the doubles match. Meanwhile, Peshawar clinched third position after defeating Bannu 3-0. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association Vice-President Shahjehan Khan Shinwari said the tournament will go a long way in promoting badminton in the country.
