MIRPUR: As in other parts of the country, the Christian community in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) celebrated Easter with religious fervour and devotion on Sunday. On this auspicious occasion, elaborate programmes were held during which the community prayed for the salvation and prosperity of Pakistan and AJK. Addressing the special service held at Christians’ religious centre in Mangla village, Mirpur district, the Christian leaders said the community will stand side by side with the Muslim majority in all confronting challenges, including eradication of extremism and economic prosperity. Expressing satisfaction over communal harmony among the local people, they said they were enjoying freedom to practice their religion in AJK.
