HARIPUR: Unidentified thieves have stolen an electricity transformer from a village in Khanpur, depriving over 500 counsumers of the facility, police and Pesco sources said. A complainant told the police that power supply to Pind Gakhra was suspended on Wednesday, but people thought it was due to load shedding. On Thursday morning, they noticed that the 50KV power transformer was missing from the pole. He said that the thieves were expert in stealing transformers while the power supply was on. They first removed the links of the heavy transmission line and then took it down. No trace has been found as yet.
