LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday granted interim bail, till April 10, to Sapna Khan’s family members that include Missal Khan, who claims to be her father, Muhammad Amin and Faisal Khan. Additional District and Session Judge Rai Muhammad Ayub Marth also directed the police to complete their investigation by the next date of hearing.

The men are allegedly involved in the kidnapping of Sapna Khan “to blackmail” Dost Muhammad Khosa, a former Punjab chief minister. The court ordered that the suspects submit surety bonds of Rs50,000 each. Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel submitted that the Race Course Police had registered an FIR against his clients at the former chief minister’s application.

The counsel said that the allegations were false. The complainant, he said, wanted to force Sapna Khan’s family to reach a compromise with him since the family had registered a case registered against Dost Muhammad Khosa for Sapna Khan’s abductions and murder.

The case had been brought to the limelight when Advocate Azhar Siddique fierst filed a petition pointing out Sapna Khan’s disappearance.
