Boxing: Mayweather eyes move to middleweight

The most awaited fight of the year between Floyd Mayweather Junior and Manny Pacquiao could be fading on Mayweather’s list of objectives, as he considers an assault on the world middleweight championship, according to ESPN. The American is preparing to face Miguel Cotto for the WBA light-middleweight title, after which calls will once again grow for him to take on Pacquiao. However, rather than demanding for Pacquiao to step up, Mayweather’s trainer Roger revealed a move up to middleweight could be on the agenda. That was later confirmed by the fighter himself, who has WBC champion Sergio Martinez in his sights.
