LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Monday allowed police to cancel the case they had registered against 73 Provincial Civil Services (PCS) officers. The FIR had been registered in 2011 after the PCS officers staged a protest in front of the Punjab Civil Secretariat and ransacked some offices. An investigating officer told the court that the Punjab government did not want to pursue the case against the officers and submitted a written application to the effect.
