Government expected to reduce petroleum prices by up to Rs3
The Ministry has decided to revise downwards petroleum prices by reducing the petroleum levy. In a summary sent by Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the reduction in the levy would bring petrol prices down by as much as Rs3.
The prices of all three fuels – petrol, diesel and kerosene oil – were raised to over Rs100 per litre on Sunday. The price of CNG was also raised by as much as Rs11.55 per kg.
Transporters, traders and the common man alike were irked by this decision and announced to protest against it. All Pakistan Transport Owners Association (APTOA) also warned that transport fares would be raised if petroleum prices are not brought down.
Traders gave an ultimatum of 72 hours to the government to reverse its decision and warned of holding a countrywide campaign of civil disobedience in case their demand is not met. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) also demanded that the government reverse the decision calling it a ‘crime against the public’.

It seems a joke on the part of Govt. of the people,by the people & for the people. They are just doing politics and nothing else. We need Tax reforms----bring people in Tax net,who are evaders,agriculture income should be taxable.CNG price should be at par with petrol to cut down it's use.

It seems that everyone in PAK wants something for nothing. I use to think it was just the government but it is not. The government very much reflects the make up of its citizens.
As long as the price of enegry is kept at prices less than the cost, energy will always be a problem for PAK. And I know everyone wants to talk about taxes but since few people actually pay taxes the government has limited sources of revenue to pay for all the other goods and services that citizens want and should have.
If the new price is backdated to be effective from the 1st April then the differential which will run into millions for the 4 days of sales goes into whose pocket ? Now that would be a classic April Fool stunt on the people.
Don't reduce Petrol prices Please. Instead spend this money on Local transport system and railways. We dont need cars. we just need Transport. And BTW, Please dont print Money anymore.
Oh please don't reduce the price.. increasing the price by 8 Rs and reducing it by only 1.5 or 2Rs doesn't make sense.PPP has sucked the blood from poor.The most hated party in my list.

The same old trick... Price increased rs. 11.55 and it will be reduced by Rs. 2.
It is high time for everyone to wake up and launch a nation-wide protest against government's such measures and their mis-management. Wake Up Pakistan and Protest !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh please don't. You can't afford the cost of a fuel subsidy. Inflation will only increase if you start subsidising fuel.
traders increase thier total prices, transporters increase their prices, what do we do? the common salaried class people? who cant ever evade taxes as cut by thier employers, then raise is also annual and it dsnt really put in consideration the inflation and the continious spiraling prices! so the biggest loser in all this is the poor salaried class, noone speakes for them!!
