Politicians Boycott: New voter list demand rejected

The parties demanded that all the voter lists should be drafted according to voters’ current residence.

KARACHI: Major political parties walked out of a meeting with NADRA, the Census Department and the Provincial Election Commission after their demand for new voter lists were rejected. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Muhammad Hussain Mehnati, who headed the delegation, claimed that there were irregularities in information about 2.4 million potential voters in Karachi. The parties demanded that all the voter lists should be drafted according to voters’ current residence.
