The missiles targeted a house in a market area of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan.
"Two missiles hit a house and four militants were killed," a security official told AFP. "The attack took place at about 3:00 am," he said.
Witnesses said the attack triggered a fire and the building was destroyed. The compound is located in the money changers market in the Miranshah commercial district.
An intelligence official also put the toll at four dead and said there were two wounded.
He said local people including Pakistani Taliban were engaged in rescue work.
Pakistan and the US have been deadlocked over the latter’s controversial drone programme. Pakistan has asked the US to shut down strikes which pick out targets in Pakistan’s territory. In a parliamentary review underway, it is expected that lawmakers would ask US to stop its programme which has in particular angered the Pakistani public.

A U.S. drone has fired two depleted uranium missiles into the Pakistani town of Miranshah, supposedly killing militants, and spreading radio-active dust particles all over town, which the children will be breathing into their lungs. If you do not believe me buy a Geiger Counter. All this, after General Mattis visited Pakistan to calm troubled water, and point out that America was a friend of Pakistan. As the old saying goes, with friends like America who needs enemies? From memory, there is an old saying, "by their fruits you shall know them". It is becoming obvious that U.S. fruit is deteriorating by the day, or should I say contaminated, and needs to be hurled into the trash bin.
@Pakistan politics: when the topic starts with suspected compound then next obvious thing is suspected Militants
"innocent proven guilty" does not apply to terrorists who are sheltered and trained by another country.
You want the drones to stop? Then stop harboring terrorists. That simple!
@Pakistan politics: If you give shelter to TTP in your house, do you call yourself innocent?
Suspected militants --- the drone who portray themselves as champions of human rights, have you forgotten your stance of 'innocent until proven guilty'
Open NATO supply route immediately. Drones must continue.
Suspected Militants, why not suspected innocents?

The above statement is just for the consumption of public otherwise our forces and our Govt have allowed these drone attacks.
News is brief
Four innocent terrorists, I presume?
i would love to have them in ISLAMABAD,LAHORE AND KARACHI so that these drone-loving people taste alittle bit and surely there are many terrorists also there who needs to be wiped out.some drone-loving people can also dispatched to the next world but no problem there is always COLLATERAL DAMAGE.
Uncle Sam, please can you send a few drones to Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi. People there are on the streets creating maybe a revolution. Please help as the President is in UK, Mr. PM is leaving soon for Europe and Mr. Sharif and family are packing to spend their summer at their home in London. Thank you Uncle.
How is it that security agencies have statistics so soon after if they aren't involved? Aren't they remote enough that you'd basically have to pre-plan the trip for quick assessment? It can't be that they're just in the general area doing their own thing. Otherwise they'd be star witnesses for the argument against drones. Or on a darker note, if they're just coincidentally in the region and drones really do hit the wrong people constantly some of the security officials would have probably been caught up in it by now. Also... "He said local people including Pakistani Taliban were engaged in rescue work." That means they're aware of general locations of TTP and don't take action. It's either because they don't want to go after them or the drones are actually pointed at those locations by the security agencies themselves. Not that I find the cooperation to be bad. But, obviously there are people who disagree.and use arguments canceled out by these implications.
Pak’s can thump their chest all day long about U.S. drone attacks on Pak territory, but do not expect the U.S. to back off. And don’t expect the U.S. to back off until the Pak’s have shown a capability to destroy the terrorists without outside intervention. That is not going to happen as long as corrupt and incompetent security forces in sympathy of the Taliban and other terrorist groups are asked to defend Pak. Does one need to be reminded about how Bin Laden lived in a fancy mansion about a stone’s throw from a prestigious military garrison?
The angry Pak public should be directing its anger towards the security forces for their incompetence, not the U.S. After all, aren’t these terrorists also killing plenty of innocent Paks? If anything, the Paks should thanking the U.S. for this deed.
please keep cleaning, I personally like it more than anything. A true Pakistani
Good Shot!!
Uncle Sam! Please extend the scope of these drones throughout Pakistan.
