KHANEWAL: Chief of his own faction of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif, on Thursday accused the government of having only two goals: fighting with judges, and destroying all institutions and organisations of Pakistan through corruption.
He was addressing the media in Khanewal after paying condolences to the family of former PML-N MNA Major Aftab Khan Daha.
Nawaz maintained that all accusations against the government are the voice of the people of Pakistan. “It is irrational to suggest to the people of Pakistan to not protest against load-shedding. The people have no other option except protesting on the streets due to consecutive load-shedding of 20 hours,” he said. “I sympathise with the people protesting against the government because we support the people of Pakistan. Our aim after gaining power in Pakistan is to resolve the problems of the people.”
The PML-N president also spoke on the current law and order situation in Karachi. “When there is no respect for law, and people are promoted out of merit, then the situation will remain the same in Karachi, because no political parties there have any respect for the law. The government and their allies in Sindh are responsible for the current situation there.”
Later, addressing a public gathering in Bohang, Rahim Yar Khan, Nawaz said that his first priority was to save Pakistan. He discussed the stand of the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani over the implementation of the Supreme Court verdict. Referring to Prime Minster Gilani’s question at a student function at Bahawalpur Islamia University, where he said that if he implements court orders, he would be sent to the gallows and if he refuses, he would be sent to jail for six months, Nawaz asked how Gilani could run the country if he seeks answers to the country’s issues from young students.

They are the rulers of 63% of the country. And look what is happening in their own province. There is no electricity whatsoever, no water, no gas. Patients dying in government hospitals die to lack of treatments and fake medicines. Students are committing suicides for their wrong results. The Patwaris and Thana culture is playing havoc to an extent that Punjab has literally become a ‘police state. Still, they don’t have anything else to do but to do Noora Khushti when in reality they perfectly are supporting the corrupt federal government. Can any one convince me why should or any other person for that matter living in Punjab vote for these thugs, again?
No matter which technique PML-N uses to delay the election, this time they know in their hearts that their position is weak. People are sick and tired of their white lies and cheap schemes to gain popularity such as Aashiyaana housing, Danish schools and laptops for youths at the expense of taxpayer’s hard earned money. Such short term measure can not augur well to their purposes. On one hand PML-N is trying to catch the people by wasting public money on personal publicity and vote garnering while at the same time, it is failing to improve the law and order situation, education, health ( case of dengue and life saving drugs is a clear example) and improving the life standard of browbeaten people.
Nawaz and Co has never pushed PPP to take real issues. I don't see any opposition role and this has cause more harm. These are just slogans that don't mean any thing.
