ATTOCK:

Members of All Pakistan  Shemales Association on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration against what they called maltreatement by the district police and urged the Supreme Court chief justice to take suo motu notice of the incident.

Led by their chairperson Almas Bobby, they condemned the police for arresting some of their members during a wedding ceremony in Wessa village and implicating them in a fabricated case, allegedly for immoral activities.

The transgenders accused SHO Rango Haji Azam Khan of misbehaving with them and registering a fake case against them.

He took Rs30,000 as well as gold earrings and a necklace from us, claimed one of the protesters. After depriving them of valuables, the police kicked them around like animals, the transgenders alleged.

On March 22, the shemales association protested in front of the office of RPO Rawalpindi.

They have also requested Chief Minister Punjab Shabaz Sharif and Interior Minister Rehman Malik to ensure fair treatment and discharge ficticious case against their colleagues.

The protesting participants blocked Kachehri Chowk for three hours.

A delegation of transgenders led by their chairperson Almas Bobby requested DPO Attock Hilal Khan  to take strict action against SHO Rango during a meeting with him.
