Pilot Project: PM House to get solar plant

CX Solar, will install a solar plant at the Prime Minister’s House in Pakistan as a pilot project for free.

A leading South Korean company, CX Solar, will install a solar plant at the Prime Minister’s House in Pakistan as a pilot project for free.


This was announced by Chief Executive Officer of the company, Dr Choi Moon Sok in a meeting with Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on the sidelines of Nuclear Security Summit. Prime Minister Gilani while appreciating the gesture said that provincial governments would be encouraged to prepare feasibility studies on solar projects to overcome the power shortage in the country.

In another meeting, the premier assured chief of Posco, a leading steel manufacturer, full support and cooperation in setting up projects in the field of gas, electricity, coal gasification and infrastructure. The South Korean company Posco is in process of investing millions of dollars to expand the production capacity of Al-Tuwairqi steel plant located near Port Qasim to two million tons.
