Karachi violence: After ANP worker murdered, 6 killed, 3 injured, 11 vehicles torched
Unknown people had opened fire on a car of an ANP worker in front of the Matric Board Office in Nazimabad.
Express News correspondent Shahab Salman reported that two people were taken to Liaquat National Hospital after the firing incident Zainul Abideen was pronounced dead. The injured was identified as Sajid Hasanzai. Both were workers of the ANP.

Protestors in Lasbela and Patel Para came out into the streets after the incident, pelting vehicles with stones and blocking traffic. Two vehicles were also burnt in Lasbela.
Karachi became a target of fierce aggression on March 27, as tyres and vehicles were set on fire, people were killed in firing incidents and roads were blocked as Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) announced to mourn the death of its workers.
At least 10 people lost their lives, two dozen were injured and around 46 vehicles set alight in the violence.

Hi friends, i don't understand why the partition immigrants in Pakistan are still called "Muhajirs". Even their future generations who are born in Pakistan are labelled Muhajirs after 6 decades. People who came to India after partition haven't been treated differently and their is no special name for them. They've become successful because of their hardwork. Our PM Manmohan Singh is an example of someone who was born in what is now Pakistani territory. I'm also from an immigrant Hindu family who used to earlier stay in Sant nagar, Lahore before partition.

Which party took refuge under the NRO for murder and criminal cases, making them the biggest NRO beneficiary and the PPP only being second? Which party is the biggest beneficiary? It is the MQM; the people, the media, the politicians and now even the judiciary ignore and pay no heed to NRO murder and criminal cases, so much that records of NRO criminal cases has gone missing from Sindh High Court; And if you are going to start holding people for crimes, you start by already registered cases, but everybody minds the thieves and not the killers of the NRO!

I feel that every one in Karachi, both Mahajirs and Pukhtuns should live peacefully like brothers. However I must humbly remind you all that the pukhtuns have a whole province to themselves called KP. They can easily develop that province and make peshawar, mardan, etc like Karachi.
The reality is Karachi is the only place Mahajirs have got and even that is now divided with others. Some thing should be done about Mahajir Suba to address the concern of Mahajirs. However both parties (MQM & ANP) should talk and find a resolution in a peaceful way. PPP and other parties should also facilitate the peace process. But Mahajirs should be recognized as a Tribe like others and should have a province.

Altaf Hussain and MQM must appreciate that it is not only they who could take Karachi hostage. Others including Pathan can do the same with innocents of Karachi what you can do. Karachi can also be easily blocked and besieged from outside. So please give up the past politics and grow up. I condemn all political parties that use violence as a tool to achieve objectives. I understand discrimination on the basis of religion and language is simple degradation. None of existing political parties including People’s Party has done any significant good to poor people of Karachi. Public sector schools have crumbled, dispensaries are of very little comfort for poor patients, there are no jobs, people cannot pay their rents and utility bills and poor is first and last victim of any violence in the town. Although, I know that you people are living in the past, you do not have capacity to look into the future, hence preaching and appeals will not influence your way of politics significantly , yet I humbly request to all to please grow up; and there is warning as well, if you did not change , it might not take twenty more years when you (PPP, ANP, MQM and others) will be rendered irrelevant. No card will help you to sustain your turf and obsolete politics.
FACT SHEET: The biggest problem is illegal immigrants in Sindh who are easily used by different parties as their front militia. According to the Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research (Piler), Around 75 per cent of irregular immigrants in Pakistan are living in Karachi Sindh. National Alien Registration Authority (Nara) estimated that 3.35 million illegal immigrants are living in the country and at least 2.5 million of them have settled in Karachi. There are over 100 migrant-concentrated residential areas in Karachi and most of these neighbourhoods are predominantly occupied by people from Afghanistan, Bihar, UP (India), Bangladesh and Burma. These illegal immigrants are not only burden on the economy of Pakistan but they also unleash violence under the patronage of different parties. Both MQM and ANP want to use them as their vote bank and militia. There is urgent need to kick out all illegal immigrants.
@Feroze: The reality is that Pukhtuns are around 5 million in Karachi and they are represented only with 2 seats in PA while none in NA through ANP. In a recent interview Shahi Syed, President Sindh ANP, claimed that in the last 4 years he reached 80% of these Pukhtuns to convince them to make ID cards and Votes to claim their Political & Economic rights. This new encroachment of ANP over MQM power is causing fury in the circles of MQM and so is the violence. And yes both parties should stop the violence against each other but the burden lies on MQM to accept the new political reality and concede some power to Pukhtuns to run Karachi. that is it.

Let's hope and pray peace returns soon. But it must be peace with justice. Anybody who thinks people can settle for peace without receiving justice is fooling himself or herself.

I belong to an urdu speaking family who migrated from India and I have spent most of my life in Karachi. I am not a supporter of ANP but the reason ANP is popular among pathans these days is due to the aggressive behaviour of MQM in Karachi that forced pathans to grouped together against them. I can only appeal to sensible people of Karachi that don't let hatred to plague your mind and soul.

Tit for tat - human life has no significance. What is important to these political parties is their personal agendas; damn with Karachi or Pakistan.
I have a feeling that RAW could be behind this to ignite an ethnic war in Karachi between two political parties.
