An additional district and sessions judge ordered a jail superintendent on Tuesday to produce a prisoner, who claims to be a woman but is being prosecuted as a man, before a medical board and submit its findings.
Judge Jazila Aslam gave Superintendent Malik Ziauddin till March 29 to submit the results of the report. Akash Butt, son of Azeem Butt, was arrested on December 15, 2011, on charges of fraud.
On March 15, he filed an application claiming to be a woman.
The name he gave was Farzana daughter of Muhammad Nazir.
The prisoner said that the Sabzi Mandi station house officer and an assistant sub-inspector had wrongly implicated him in the case using forged documents.
He also said he was getting constant threats from criminals for taking the matter to the court.
Akash Butt has been kept in a separate cell after he complained that some of the fellow prisoners were harassing him, the jail superintendent said.
In his petition, he had sought court directions to the jail superintendent to get his medical examination.
