Bail Petition: Police issued notice for March 27

Police were asked to submit the investigation record of Zubair Iqbal, Orient Labs director.

LAHORE: Police were asked on Saturday to submit the investigation record of Zubair Iqbal, Orient Labs director, by March 27 on a bail petition filed by Iqbal. Iqbal is one of the men accused of negligence in the building collapse that killed at least 23 people. The judge also asked the police to tell the court about the latest developments in the case. A notice was also issued to the state. Iqbal’s counsel contended that his client was innocent and had been falsely implicated. He said that the petitioner was a “respectable” businessman against whom no incriminating evidence had been found.
